The House of Yeah

Jardim Marques de Oliviera, Porto

Everything in this quarter seems designed to encourage people to meet and setting the scene of what to expect. The Japanese have a wonderfully rich vocabulary for these relationship spaces - including 'Ma' which can be translated as a space that is ready for people to connect.

Well that is here. I love this ornate building in Porto surrounding the small, friendly and evocative Jardim Marques de Oliviera with its carmine cast iron benches and magnolias.

Part of a series on third spaces, the warm friendly places ( often under threat) where people come to connect or sit in company.
