Outer Hebrides Sketchbook- Seals, midges and posh gin 2021

Take Caribbean colours, Arctic water temperatures and warm Scottish rain and shake with gusto. A sucker for sticking and splodging I gather flotsam and jetsam from the spectacular white shell sand beaches of Barra and Lewis, using them to draw, swab and mark a sense a place. The fat, bouncy sheep’s wool from the beach, full of water-repellent oil - is a fantastically expansive dauber of rich ink.
